General Manager Oak Ridge Operations
Oak Ridge, TN.-IMPACT Services, Inc. , a radioactive waste processing company with facilities located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is pleased to announce the addition of Marty Grogan to the IMPACT Services team as General Manager of the Secure Support Facility (SSF) and the East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP) facility.
"Marty's vast knowledge of treatment for mixed and low level waste made him a perfect fit into our operations team," said Chief Operating Officer Sammy Jones. Marty has over 14 years of management and treatment of both commercial and DOE radioactive and mixed waste and 24 years of nuclear power operations experience. His previous positions included Vice President and General Manager of one of the largest Mixed Waste facilities in the country and management of a disposal site for low level radioactive waste.

In March of 2009, IMPACT acquired the GeoMelt® division from AMEC plc. The GeoMelt® technologies are a collection of vitrification processes that are used to safely treat and stabilize a wide variety of materials including wastes contaminated with organics, heavy metals, radioactivity, asbestos, and other hazardous materials. The acquisition of GeoMelt® will allow IMPACT to provide customers with additional solutions to waste management needs through the world.
Most recently, Impact Services, Inc. partnered with Omega Consultants to form the Secure Support Facility (SSF). The SSF will allow the IMPACT/Omega team to expand current services to include supporting production, and waste operations associated with classified materials.
